Would you like to work in a school supporting Post 16 students to make a positive change in their lives and work towards a brighter future?

School Staffing Solutions are looking for someone special who would like to work as a Teaching Assistant with post 16 students in the New Milton area of Hampshire. The site (part of a bigger school) supports young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs, some of whom may also have ASC.

Many of these young people have experienced very difficult situations in their home life and as a result of this can find it hard being in school and often don't engage in their learning.

Could you be that someone special who can make a difference in their lives?

We are looking for someone who is patient and nurturing in their approach and who is also resilient and able to deal with challenging/aggressive behaviour whilst helping the young people learn to regulate their feelings and emotions. These YP need consistency and reliability so please ONLY apply if this is something you can commit to.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be working in a small class across KS5 ensuring that YP receive a consistently high quality of education in a safe and stimulating learning environment.

About you:

  • School based experience as a Teaching Assistant role is desirable or experience working with children.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good sense of humour
  • Able to build relationships
  • Resilient and have 'bounce back' ability
  • Hard working and reliable
