The Role:
As a Planner for this major highways scheme, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of a key infrastructure project. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the planning process, from initial concept through to project completion. This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact on the development of vital transportation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and development of the highways scheme, ensuring all activities are aligned with project goals, timelines, and budget.
Develop and manage the project plan, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure key milestones are met.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and environmental impact assessments.
Prepare and present planning reports, ensuring compliance with local planning policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to obtain necessary permissions and approvals.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
Collaborate with the design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents, cost estimates, and procurement activities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent in Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in planning within the highways or infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of planning regulations and processes, particularly in relation to major infrastructure projects.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
