Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist independent SEN school in Newark. The school provides tailored education for children and young people aged 5-19 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated needs. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Implement planned learning activities and adjust approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress and engagement with learning.
  • Support pupils social and emotion wellbeing.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in the classroom and during off-site activities.
  • Help students develop independence and essential life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and parents to ensure a consistent support approach.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A relevant qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Prior experience in supporting children/young people with SEN is essential.
  • A proactive and patient approach to working with students with additional needs.
