Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

About the Role
The team delivers projects across various sectors, including residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centers, energy, and more. The focus is on balancing form and function while considering sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalization is central to project delivery, allowing clients and stakeholders to engage with designs from the concept stage through to completion. By drawing on extensive industry expertise, the team harmonises design objectives through innovative engineering and architectural solutions.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the team Director and support project leads.
Manage day-to-day design and drawing production to support technical project delivery.
Collaborate effectively with the team, delegate tasks, and provide clear communication.
Mentor junior colleagues and offer technical guidance.
Attend and contribute to project and client meetings.
Conduct site inspections and surveys as needed.
Undertake design tasks using expert technical knowledge.
Ensure high-quality technical design output and oversee design validation.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with external project team members and clients.
Manage cost, time, and budget considerations and assist in preparing fee proposals.
Produce detailed technical outputs, including design models, specifications, and reports.
Oversee drawing production and ensure adherence to BIM protocols.
Requirements:
A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferably an accredited Master's Degree with ICE/IStructE) or an equivalent Level 6 qualification.
Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body, or actively working towards Chartership.
Significant post-qualification experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in relevant drawing, modeling, and design software.
Strong technical knowledge of applicable legislation and standards.
Good commercial awareness, project management skills, and experience.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
