Financial Accountant | Nottingham / Hybrid | £45,000 - £55,000

If you are a qualified accountant or have equivalent experience, this position could be the perfect step towards a Financial Controller level role.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this hybrid role offers the chance to work from both home and the office in Nottingham, providing exposure to commercial development initiatives within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, board reports, and insightful financial commentary.
  • Business partnering to effectively manage Gross Margin and Corporate Overheads.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and work closely with sales and purchase ledger teams.
  • Oversee year-end financial statements, liaise with auditors, and handle tax-related responsibilities, including VAT and corporation tax returns.
  • Collaborate with senior management on budgeting, forecasting, and live financial monitoring.
  • Drive improvements in management reporting and business controls, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and internal audit projects.
  • Maintain statutory compliance with tax and reporting obligations.

About You:

  • Strong financial accounting experience with robust attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
  • A structured, methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Confidence to communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • A fully qualified accountant (or qualified by experience), eager to continue developing expertise.

Desirable Experience:

  • Statutory account production and reporting.
  • Taxation and compliance.
