Financial ControllerOutskirts of Mansfield/Newark, Full time, Permanent£48,000 rising to £50,000 following probationary period

Future Prospects Group are proud to be supporting an industry-leading Client with the sustainability sector to recruit a Financial Controller on a full time, permanent basis. The successful Candidate will have day to day responsibility for financial compliance and risk minimisation through appropriate procedures, controls and reconciliations through all ledgers and bank accounts.

THE ROLE

As Financial Controller you will have leadership responsibilities towards your team fostering an environment of support, encouragement, and enthusiasm, while helping grow a healthy company culture of communication, personal development, innovation, reliability, honesty, value, and contentment, key duties for this role include:

  • Delivery of Monthly Management Accounts including full responsibility for all journal adjustments, stock valuations, prepayments, accruals, fixed asset register, depreciation adjustments and formally evidenced main ledgers/balance sheet control account reconciliations.
  • Day to day responsibility for ensuring risk minimization, via appropriate procedures and controls.
  • Responsibility for reconciliation of all company bank accounts/cash holdings, reporting to the Board any issues in a timely manner and delivery of at least 12 weeks forward cashflow forecasting to the Finance Director.
  • Attendance at Senior Management meetings and delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting to meet the information needs of the business.
  • Ultimate responsibility for provision of VAT Returns, PAYE Returns and payment, CIS Returns, Payroll & Pension Returns, PIIDs, Annual Companies House returns and all other standard financial compliance reporting requirements.
  • Provision of day-to-day support to the Finance Director in relation to budgeting, forecasting, Business Plans, Strategic Reporting and any other required areas identified.
  • Updating and maintenance of all records in the company CRM system.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful Financial Controller will be passionate about the role and have excellent people skills for both internal and external relationships, the key attributes for this role include:

  • Previous experience, at least 2 years, in a similar finance team management position.
  • Proven experience in delivery of monthly Management Accounts to include Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet & Cashflow reporting.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and forward financial modelling preferable.
  • Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, AAT) or proven experience in all areas required.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of the applications relevant to the position: Sage 50/200 Professional, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM.
  • Proven experience in new system migration and implementation of new financial systems as part of a companywide ERP solution preferable.
  • Previous experience in CIS reporting requirements preferable.
  • Highly organised and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, work under pressure and multi task.
