Michael Page Finance is delighted to be retained on the search for a highly-commercial Financial Controller to join a rapidly-growing manufacturer of high-end furniture.

In this exciting role, you will work closely with the MD, Head of Operations and Group Finance Director to apply meaningful insight into the financial performance of the business & support proposals for investment within the business.

Client Details

A well-established UK furniture manufacturer and installer specialising in providing high-quality furniture solutions to the hospitality sector, including hotels, holiday camps, restaurants, bars, and clubs. With a turnover of £14 million, we are known for our commitment to delivering both simple loose furniture refits and refreshers, as well as complex turnkey installation projects.

Description

This is a key role in the business with responsibility for

  • Working closely with the MD and Head of Operations to apply meaningful insight into the financial performance of the business & support proposals for investment within the business
  • Working closely with the Group FD to support the development and integration of group strategic and operational planning and major group investment proposals
  • Develop further the monthly management accounts, associated analysis and insight to support
    • The production of accurate and timely group consolidated accounts and reporting for the Bank and Group Board of Directors and CFG Executive Team (of which this role is a part)
  • To work with the current administrative finance team, them whilst assessing with the MD and Group FD the most appropriate structure going forward to support accelerated growth
  • To be the Sage X3 champion to develop and leverage the investment to ensure it is used to its full potential whilst ensuring all areas of the business adhere to the necessary controls and procedures to ensure robust financial and operational controls are maintained. A key initial objective will be to ensure we adjust and tweak the way the system is being applied to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile

Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent body.

Must have strong demonstrable experience in an operational accounting role within a highly commercial business. Experience of developing accounting systems and staff is also critical to ensure that the finance function and systems are "fit for purpose".

Must have strong analytical skills but be able to clearly communicate analysis to a range of stakeholders across a range of levels including operational staff, sales team and directors. Must be a clear communicator with good management skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to influence others across all disciplines.

Strong IT skills (MS Excel) and understanding of ERP/Accounting systems and their principles a must whilst experience in BI systems would be preferable.
