  • This role is perfect for a hands-on business leader eager to drive growth and enhance employee engagement and customer retention.

Macildowie Executive Search has been retained to source a Managing Director for a growing SME in the private health sector. This is a brand new role to help build enterprise value and allow one of the business' owners to step away from the organisation and focus on other business interests.

Consequently, the owner would love to appoint someone who has led and grown an SME (£2-10m turnover) organisation before - ideally one which has been governed by some sort or regulatory framework as their ongoing CQC accreditation is obviously paramount. A health sector background really would be ideal as some exposure to clinicians would be useful!

Responsibilities

  • To create and execute a vision underpinned by a credible, achievable growth strategy
  • To lead and inspire employees on their ongoing growth journey
  • Increase and optimise the patient utilisation of the business' services and facilities
  • Facilitate the career development of self and others by attracting and retaining high performing talent
  • Communicate and direct organisation's conversations around priorities, goals and improvement areas
  • Work with marketing and sales capability to reach a wider audience to help in the optimisation of their operational capacity
  • Oversee the effective functioning of sales, marketing, HR, finance, clinical lead and non-clinical lead

Deliverables

  • Sustainably increase top and bottom line performance
  • Maintain (grow if possible) positive customer sentiment
  • Create high performance culture and retain high-performers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related area
  • 5+ years' of management experience on top role (GM/MD/CEO) of an SME

This is a superb role for a business leader looking for a growth project where there are relatively simple levers to pull for growth. It will need someone who wants to be hands on with delivering that growth though. As this is an SME, there are no big budgets to pad out an executive team or go on a hiring spree - costs need to be controlled and the team will need leadership. The business is currently very well run - the opportunity for growth lies in improving the utilisation of the companies existing facilities and services. If you are a General Manager or Managing Director with a love of employee engagement and customer acquisition and retention, then this role could be perfect for you.
