A small village preschool setting caters for children aged 9 months to 4 years of age between the hours of 7.30am - 5.30pm over 48 weeks per annum, They have a team of 11 staff members who each hold a designated role. We have an off site forest school that children access weekly and is lead fully by qualified forest school leaders.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Manager to oversee the daily operations of our preschool facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Manage the overall operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Develop and implement educational programmes that promote child development and learning.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.

Organise staff training sessions, supervisions, observations etc to enhance professional development in early childhood education practices.

Drive initiatives that promote community involvement and awareness of the preschool's offerings.

Monitor children's progress through assessments and observations, adapting programmes as necessary to meet individual needs.

Work towards requirements including Ofsted, Local authority and driving plans related to this.

Requirements

Proven experience in managing a childcare or nursery setting is essential,

Strong background in early childhood education with relevant qualifications.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Ability to effectively manage relationships with children, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.

A genuine passion for working with young children and understanding their developmental needs.

Experience in implementing educational frameworks that support child learning outcomes is desirable.

Schedule:

Tuesday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am to 5.30pm

(currently manager does 8.30am to 5.30pm x 2 days, 8.30am to 4.30pm x 1 day and 8.30am to 2pm x 1 day)

Education:

level 3 minimum, preferable higher education i.e degree level.

Experience:

Nursery experience: 2 years

Childcare: 2+ years

Management: 2 years
