The CompanyA leading provider of mechanical and electrical solutions across sectors that include commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

The OpportunityDue to the award of new contracts and continued impressive growth, they are now looking to strengthen their Project Management team with a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Estimator.  This is to work on projects up to a value of £2 Million, and collaborating with the Project Managers, Directors, and Business Development team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

What Will You Do?I can’t put the whole JD in an advert.  However, here’s some of the main aspects of what you’ll do:

  • Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, to ensure everything required to successfully bid and win the project is understood and clearly communicated.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and strategies to address them.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation for time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Hold site visits and meetings with clients to discuss project requirements and scope.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tender packages, ensuring all inclusions and exclusions are clearly detailed.
  • Review and compare sub-contractor and supplier quotes, negotiating to secure the best possible terms.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in post-tender negotiations and handover meetings.
  • Continuously monitor the progress of projects to ensure alignment and adjust forecasts as necessary.

What You’ll NeedThis is an important role within the business, so there’s a few things I’ll need to see in your locker:

  • Relevant qualifications for your craft
  • Significant Electrical Estimating experience 
  • A sound understanding of electrical systems, materials and installation methods
  • Experience of working with Project Managers on electromechanical projects
  • Solid understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • A proven ability to build strong business relationships
  • Professional memberships (RICS, CIBSE) would be useful but not essential

Unfortunately, this would not suit a recent graduate without significant, practical, real-world experience.We are also not looking for those outside of a reasonable commute to Nottingham or that would need to relocate – No Exceptions
