Health and Safety Advisor - Waste Management SolutionsBasic salary circa £35,000 + benefitsBased in NottinghamshireMy client is a leading provider of environmental and sustainability solutions across the UK and Ireland - focused on waste management, resource recovery and circular economy initiatives to recycle materials, create clean energy and drive sustainable change. They are currently looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to be based at the Nottinghamshire site . If you have proven health and safety experience within manufacturing, waste or heavy industry this is a fantastic opportunity and we'd love to hear from you!The Role:

  • The key responsibility in this role is to provide health and safety advice to the business, enabling it, and it's employees to comply with health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • You'll be conducting and recording risk assessments and site inspections as well as supporting or leading incident investigations.
  • Liaising with managers and making recommendations on how to meet safety standards
  • You'll be responsible for issuing PPE and maintaining records associated with that and developing and delivering H&S communications including toolbox talks, newsletters and posters.
  • Other key areas include performing internal audits against ISO45001 policies and procedures and liaising with external ISO auditors.
  • Hours of work are 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday, predominantly based in the Nottinghamshire site but with fortnightly visits to Leicester sites too.

The Person:

  • We're looking for someone with a NEBOSH certification and although not essential, an IOSH membership would be advantageous.
  • You'll have experience of risk assessment, auditing, investigation reporting and health and safety legislation.
  • The key area is proven health and safety experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial industry or within waste management.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills are essential along with the drive and motivation to achieve results.,
