Full or part time Head of HR opportunity - Public Sector - Permanent - £53-60k per annum!

Macildowie are so excited to have the opportunity to partner exclusively with a Nottinghamshire based Public Sector organisation who are looking to appoint a talented and experienced Head of HR and L&D on a permanent basis that will lead the Human Resources function. Within this post you will oversee all areas of HR including Employee Relations, Recruitment, Learning & Development and Payroll just to name a few!

The role offers an incredible opportunity to shape the future of the HR department, where you also be part of the exec team, sitting on board meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the HR team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Oversee HR systems, recruitment, talent management, and workforce development.
  • Ensure payroll, expenses, and HR data management are accurate and compliant.
  • Provide workforce reporting, including gender pay audits and staff engagement reports.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion through training and initiatives.
  • Support organisational change, including TUPE transfers and organisational change.
  • Oversee the employee relations function, ensuring fair and consistent HR practices.

About You:

  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent HR qualification
  • Extensive experience in HR leadership, with strong strategic and operational skills.
  • Proven expertise in employee relations, policy development, and workforce planning.
  • A strong understanding of HR compliance, GDPR, and payroll processes.
  • Experience leading change processes, including TUPE and organisational change.
  • The ability to analyse workforce data and provide insightful reports and recommendations in SLT meetings.
