About the RoleA mainstream school based in NG15 is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs starting in January 2025. The school are hosting trials this week and next and will be looking to appoint the right candidate, swiftly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with complex special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver individualized learning plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting the pupil's engagement and development.
  • Assist with personal care needs, where required.
  • Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to the pupil's care and learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly complex needs.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health & Social Care) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
