Adept Resourcing are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Engineering Planner to join our client in Chesterfield.
In this key role, you will support the generation and execution of planned engineering shut schedules, coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance tasks. The site operates on a 5-weekly shut schedule, and you will be responsible for identifying the content of the shut plan, coordinating labour, and ensuring the necessary equipment is available to complete the planned tasks successfully.
You will work closely with the engineering and production to establish and action business priorities. Additionally, you will assist in the day-to-day running of the engineering teams, assigning daily work activities in line with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the maintenance activities during planned engineering shuts.
- Work with engineering leads to ensure successful execution of tasks.
- Manage a large number of contractors (30-40) on-site during planned shuts, ensuring organisation and preparation.
- Maintain and optimise the CMMS and SAP systems for efficient maintenance tracking.
- Assign and prioritise daily engineering tasks to meet business needs.
About You:
We are looking for a highly organised, methodical, and self-motivated individual with an eye for detail. You should have strong IT skills, especially in MS programs and SharePoint. Ideally, you'll have a mechanical bias with hands-on experience in maintenance activities and contractor supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ).
- Experience in mechanical maintenance engineering.
- Proficient in CMMS and SAP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project or Excel.
- Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment.
Working Hours & Benefits:
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday to Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Thursday and Friday.
- Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 depending on experience.
