Overview:As an IT Engineer Apprentice, you'll work hands-on with seasoned IT pros to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance cutting-edge retail technology systems. This is your chance to gain invaluable experience while actively supporting the seamless operation of essential tech solutions that power our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, learning to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Assist in setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Support inventory management and maintain accurate IT records.
  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware and retail-specific devices, and assist with software installation and updates.
  • Contribute to network troubleshooting and security practices to maintain a secure IT environment.Participate in IT training and stay updated on retail technology trends.

Required skills:

  • Interest in IT systems with the ability to learn quickly and solve basic technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist and support co-workers and retail employees.
  • Detail-oriented with basic record-keeping skills for inventory and IT procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and adapt to changing technology and retail needs.
  • Eager to explore new technologies and committed to ongoing IT skill development.
  • Effective time management with a proactive and resourceful approach to handling tasks and challenges.

Salary: £16,000 per annum.

Working week: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (40 hours, paid lunch) and "on-call" rota 1 in every 5 weeks.

Every 1 in 5 weeks you will be expected to work "on-call" on a rota-basis, covering Saturday and Sunday, and one day between Monday to Friday you will only work the evening, from home.
