About the Role:

Are you a dedicated and experienced Financial Assistant looking to make a significant impact on a growing business? Our client, a well-established company based at Newbridge, is seeking a skilled individual to join their team.

As a Financial Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the business, with a focus on payroll, management accounts, and VAT. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Payroll: Overseeing the entire payroll process for approximately 20 staff, including calculations, deductions, and statutory submissions.
  • Management Accounts: Preparing and analysing management accounts to provide valuable insights into the business's financial performance.
  • VAT: Handling VAT returns, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Conducting accurate bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Credit Control: Monitoring and managing outstanding debts to ensure timely payments.
  • Financial Reporting: Producing financial reports and analyses to support decision-making.
  • General Accounting: Assisting with various accounting tasks, such as invoicing, purchase ledger, and trial balance preparation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience in payroll, management accounts, and VAT.
  • Strong financial accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to travel to Newbridge, Midlothian daily
