Transport Administrator / Planner
Location: Newbridge, Edinburgh
Salary: up to 40k (with potential of a retention bonus)
Contract: Fixed term contact minimum of 9 months

Grafton Recruitment are looking for a Transport Administrator / Planner for one of their global, successful clients in the Edinburgh area. Someone who holds a current CPC licence and has extensive knowledge within the logistics/planning background.

The role:

  • Day to day administration of transport paperwork and procedures
  • Ensuring transport legislation is adhered to regarding drivers fleet legislation
  • Analysing information to monitor performance
  • Ensuring all CCP requirements are carried out and monitored
  • Effective vehicle routing to ensure minimum cost and maximum customer satisfaction
  • Assisting the site meet business KPI relating to customer service
  • Fleet administration of vehicles, service records, defect process, workshop bookings
  • Check drivers on and off site to ensure customer service is maintained to a maximum
  • Understanding and complying to BRC, HACCP
  • Gave an active role in accident investigation, both persons and vehicles
  • Provide supervisory support for Administration/Drivers and Porters
  • Work with sub-contractors ensuring service levels are delivered
  • Ensuring efficient day to day use of personnel whilst ensuring all areas are appropriately staffed
  • Collate pallet information accurately


You will need:

  • Proven track record Warehouse/Distribution experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a warehouse /distribution environment
  • Current CPC Qualification
  • A solid knowledge of transport law
  • Being part of H&S committee
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities.
  • Solid computer skills MS/ tracking systems/ Tacho software
  • Able to lead and influence employees
  • Take the initiative to lead and break new ground
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • Ability to make decisions even when they're tough
  • Deliver solutions to meet customer needs
  • Ability to plan projects
