Our Newbury based client has exciting growth plans backed by private equity. They’re looking for a Financial Controller to help shape the future of the finance function and play a key role in their next chapter.
This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the Finance Director. You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the finance department, helping to develop a ‘best in class’ function that’s scalable, commercially minded and ready to support growth.
You'll play a central part in refining processes, strengthening controls, and upskilling the team around you – all while ensuring compliance, regulatory and business reporting requirements are met.
What will the Financial Controller role involve?
- Supporting the FD in leading and developing the finance team.
- Driving improvements across processes, controls and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance and mitigating financial risks.
- Producing timely, accurate data to support fast, informed decisions.
- Leading from the front, and being willing to roll your sleeves up when needed.
- Helping embed a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
Suitable Candidate for the Financial Controller vacancy:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role.
- Commercially minded and analytical, with a strong understanding of business processes and confident using data to support decisions.
- Hands-on leader and team developer, with proven people management skills and the ability to influence across all levels.
- Adaptable and proactive, thrives in a fast-paced environment; experience in a PE-backed or growth-focused business is a bonus.
