Seeking a skilled and proactive IT Infrastructure Manager to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server, networks, and managing external Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Description

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Server Management:

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, focusing on security, availability, performance, and proactive troubleshooting.
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and authentication programs, ensuring compliance with Cyber Essentials and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Manage local hardware replacement programs and ensure all systems are optimized for scalability and reliability.

Cybersecurity & Networking:

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of network security solutions, including FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Collaborate with MSPs for the installation, configuration, and management of Fortinet network appliances.
  • Drive network/server upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing service disruption and downtime.

Managed Service Provider (MSP) & Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with external MSPs, ensuring that SLAs, service quality, and performance standards are consistently met.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to procure and manage equipment, software, and IT services.
  • Lead negotiations and manage IT contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and objectives.

Documentation, Reporting & Risk Management:

  • Provide comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance, security posture, and vendor performance.
  • Develop and execute risk management strategies and mitigation plans to ensure operational continuity and security compliance.

Business Continuity & M&A Integration:

  • Ensure business continuity through robust infrastructure planning and execution.
  • Lead the technical integration of newly acquired businesses, aligning IT systems with organizational infrastructure standards for smooth mergers and acquisitions.

Profile

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, or later), focusing on performance, security, and configuration.
  • Expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Proven experience managing and collaborating with MSPs for service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Skilled in architecting, implementing, and maintaining high-availability network and server infrastructures.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, IP addressing, routing, and secure network configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and MSPs.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, including knowledge of operational technology and industry-specific IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics tools for data-driven decision-making.

Education and Experience

  • Proven experience in businesses with physical production and machinery, integrating IT infrastructure with operational technology for efficiency.
  • Successful track record managing outsourced IT service providers and strategic partners to align resources with business goals.
