We need a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a local Newbury primary school. This role is predominantly focused on the SEMH of the key stage 1 and key stage 2 children, many of them have challenging homelives and/or have SEN challenges that result in mental health concerns.

The SEMH Teaching Assistant role:

  • To be able to prepare, conduct and accurately deliver one to one /1:1 interventions to KS1/KS2 students.
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and report any concerns to the Designated Safeguard Lead immediately.
  • Support and enhance the Newbury students classroom curriculum, as many students require 1:1 outside the classroom support with maths, literacy and phonics.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven track record experience supporting EYFS/KS1/KS2 students with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia, Physical Disabilities and other SEN challenges in any Training and Development in Education
  • Any relevant childcare qualifications Level 3 and above.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Min Grade 4/C)
  • Degree in STEM or Psychology based subjects (preferred)
  • Hold a clear Enhanced DBS or williness to complete
