We work with a brilliant special school in the Newbury area that are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants. The school is split into 2 sites, Primary & secondary and they're both on the lookout for new staff to join the team for an immediate start.
The school look after students with SEMH & ASD from ages 4-16. Feedback we have received about the school from TA's we have placed there recently has been overwhelmingly positive. All candidates have commented on how lovely the staff are and how rewarding the work is.
The role
Being proactive is essential in being a successful TA. The strongest TA's are people who never sit still and are always on the lookout for how to assist the class teacher.
You must be calm, patient, enthusiastic and feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. Ideally you would have worked in a school environment before as well as with SEMH students. The school are open to a range of applications though, so if you come from more a support work background, still feel free to apply!
