We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Architectural Technician to join a well-established and successful client in Newbury. This is an opportunity to work on diverse residential projects, managing developments from initial concept through to completion and beyond. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating design and technical aspects of new and ongoing development projects whilst supervising 3 Junior Architectural Technicians

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Land bid and land process to provide design, technical, and planning input during land bid and strategic land processes
  • Produce and amend site layouts, house type planning drawings, and associated design documentation
  • Manage planning applications, including outline, full, reserved matters, and planning condition discharge submissions
  • Coordinate construction information and oversee building regulations applications, ensuring timely delivery to site teams
  • Handle post-completion responsibilities, including management company liaison, customer care technical input, and legal matters
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including planning authorities, to achieve project objectives
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, supporting their professional development
  • Attend and represent the company at parish council meetings, public exhibitions, and other engagements as required

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Previous architectural technician experience in a housebuilder’s design and technical department
  • Proven ability to manage large residential projects independently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and other common software packages
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • CIAT qualification or RIBA Part 1/2 certification or Equivalent
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and other Adobe software
