We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our clients team in Newbury. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting HGV vehicles to and from MOT centers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and stable, full-time work from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Transporting HGVs: Safely drive Class 1 HGV vehicles to and from MOT centers as required.
Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all vehicles are in good condition and comply with safety standards.
Route Planning: Plan efficient routes to ensure timely arrivals at MOT centers while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and any relevant vehicle documents.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, ensuring a positive and professional image of the company.
Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations at all times during your driving duties.
Requirements:
Class 1 HGV License: Valid Class 1 HGV driving license (essential).
Experience: Proven experience as a Class 1 driver, with a strong understanding of HGV vehicle operations.
Clean Driving Record: A clean driving record with no significant driving offenses.
MOT Experience: Previous experience working with MOTs or similar vehicle services is beneficial.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks if required.
Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor at all times.
