Commercial Solicitor (4+ PQE) – Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Firm in Newbury

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Solicitor to join its dynamic and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a broad range of clients, from innovative start-ups and SMEs to charities and multinational corporations, advising on high-quality and complex commercial matters.

The Role

As a Commercial Solicitor, you will provide expert legal support across a variety of industries, ensuring compliance, risk management and strategic legal solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including Terms & Conditions, distribution agreements, IT contracts and service agreements
  • Advising start-ups on business structures, funding, shareholder agreements and intellectual property protection
  • Providing legal guidance to charities, including regulatory compliance, governance and commercial transactions
  • Supporting SMEs and privately owned businesses on company formation, commercial contracts and dispute resolution
  • Managing corporate relationships with multinational clients, ensuring UK law compliance and facilitating cross-border transactions
  • Staying up to date with legal developments, ensuring clients receive the most current and strategic advice
  • Contributing to business development, strengthening client relationships and identifying growth opportunities

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years PQE in commercial law, with the following experience and skills:

  • Strong expertise in contract law, corporate governance and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to handle complex transactions and provide commercially sound legal advice
  • Experience advising start-ups, charities and SMEs is highly desirable
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
