Recently awarded 2024 Law Firm of the Year by LawNet, the firm delivers high-quality legal services to individuals and businesses across Litigation, Business, Real Estate, Family, Wills Probate & Estate Planning, and Conveyancing.Position Overview:A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Paralegal to join the Litigation Team at the Newbury office, working within the Contentious Probate team. The ideal candidate will have experience in contentious legal matters, particularly involving wills, trusts, and inheritance disputes. This role involves active participation in client matters, mediations, and trials, offering excellent exposure and development for an ambitious legal professional.Key Responsibilities:• Attend client meetings and support day-to-day client liaison.• Draft initial correspondence and legal documentation, including:• Letters to clients, solicitors, and third parties• Witness statements• Instructions to counsel and experts• Mediation Position Statements• Settlement Agreements• Assist with preparation for mediations, including drafting documents, attending client meetings, and attending mediations with the fee earner.• Support preparation for trials, including bundling, collating documents, attending client meetings and conferences with counsel, and attending trial remotely or in person.• Continuously develop your legal knowledge through training sessions and webinars.Requirements:• Ideally 2+ years’ paralegal experience in contentious matters, particularly wills, trusts, and inheritance disputes.• Educated to degree level with a strong academic background; LPC completed is desirable.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.• Strong organisational skills, including management of digital files and bundles.• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.• Team player with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships with clients and colleagues.• Experience with mediations and trials is advantageous but not essential.Benefits:• Competitive salary.• Office: Newbury preferred.• Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm.• Additional Benefits: Flexible Leave Policy, pension, life assurance, medical health cash plan, discount portal with access to Virtual GP, wellbeing tools, and support.Equal Opportunities:My client is an equal opportunities employer and values diversity in all forms.
