About Us

Quintons / Deal Varney are a leading firm of independent Chartered Surveyors specialising in commercial property within West Berkshire, with a national portfolio of clients. They employ RICS registered valuers and provide advice on sales, lettings, valuation, rent reviews, lease renewals (landlord and tenant) of offices, shops, industrial/warehouse units and sites, and commercial and residential land development.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Residential and Commercial Block Manager to join our growing commercial property management business.

About the Role

  • Management of a residential and commercial property portfolio based mainly in Newbury and Thatcham, however, some additional travel will be required
  • Setting annual service charge budgets - reviewing expenditure and forecasting future expenditure
  • Liaising with contractors to obtain quotes and instructing maintenance works, and liaising with residential and commercial tenants to organise works
  • Overseeing maintenance contracts
  • Liaising with Leaseholders and dealing with general enquiries
  • Liaising with clients/landlords to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Undertaking property inspections and completing reports
  • Attending meetings including AGMs
  • Monitoring arrears and taking action for collection of service charges

About You

  • Minimum 3 years property management experience
  • The role is office based but you will need a full UK driving licence
  • Competent communicator, able to build and develop relationships
  • Proficient Microsoft Office and competent administrative skills
  • An awareness of general Health and Safety, Fire Risk Assessments, Asbestos Surveys, Electrical Condition Installation Reports, etc.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Capability to produce reports and presentations and forecast monthly revenue
  • Excellent time management
