Newbury, Berkshire (Hybrid role - Office-based 3 days per week & 2 days home-based)

A leading provider of collaborative communications solutions, based in Newbury, Berkshire is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their friendly UK sales team in a permanent position.



The Role:


As a Business Development Manager (BDM) you're at the forefront of driving innovation and growth in our dynamic sales environment. Working with the Business Unit Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our solutions and the sales team with daily duties including:

  • Customer acquisition - Sourcing new customers, seeking out the hidden gems and rising stars of the industry.
  • Customer Development Nurturing customers ensuring their requirements are consistently met and exceeded, to help them to grow also
  • Project Support: Supporting your colleagues with their projects and offering your expertise and time to achieve success
  • Vendor Relationships: Forge vendor relationships to build professional bridges that will withstand the test of time
  • Customer/Vendor Interaction: Collaborate closely with customers to achieve mutual success and benefit
  • Major Bid Support: Utilise market and product knowledge to support in the writing of bids and tenders to secure contracts from key prospect clients


Skills and experience required include:

  • Previous experience of Collaborative Communications / Unified Communications (UC) (voice, video, personal and team messaging, voicemail, audio visual and content sharing services / software etc.)
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Face-to-face experience of customer meetings / visits
  • Distribution experience
  • Revenue and Margin Optimisation
  • Customer Acquisition Strategy
  • Building, maintaining and developing strategic & key relationships with customers, vendors & internal and external stakeholders
