Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young parents and individuals? We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a dedicated team, providing crucial housing and support services for individuals aged 16-24 in Newbury.

THE ROLE:
As a Housing Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to serve as a keyworker, empowering young people to build independence and self-sufficiency while ensuring safety and well-being.

  • Assess client referrals and engage using a person-centred approach.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and promptly report maintenance issues.
  • Provide ongoing support by regularly reviewing Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure wraparound support.
  • Manage tenancy arrangements and ensure clients are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate safeguarding actions and attend relevant meetings.
  • Deliver person-centred support to young people with diverse challenges, such as mental health or substance misuse.


THE CANDIDATE:
We are seeking candidates who have experience in similar support or customer-facing roles, with transferable skills to work with young people.

  • Experience working with individuals aged 16-24 or young parents.
  • Ability to make decisions and take initiative.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and supported living environments.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and risk management processes.
  • Strong communication, administration, and IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.


THE CONTRACT:

  • 21 hours per week
  • 12 weeks temp to perm
  • Early (7:30-15:30) and Late (12:30-20:30) shifts
  • Out-of-hours on-call rota (1 week every 4 weeks, additional payment)
  • 16.50 to 19.97 per hour LTD / 14.07 to 17.02 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday
