DevOps Engineer - On-Prem AWS, Terraform, serverless, Jenkins, Linux

The role is based in Newbury, Berkshire 2 days each week.

A stunning career move with an industry leader in Cleantech, decarbonisation. The DevOps Engineer will help deliver a scalable AWS hosted platform, provisioning all product infrastructure in the cloud (AWS), developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code to facilitate a cloud migration.

The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in automating and streamlining the software delivery processes, ensuring high availability, monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure to track performance and costs. Experience in monitoring and optimising system performance is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of infrastructure as code (IaC) for AWS hosted platform
  • Provide secure, stable and scalable production, staging and test environments
  • Support the development teams with isolated cloud environments
  • Set up the cloud-based build pipeline for source code management, build, deploy and release keeping security and scalability in mind
  • Collaborate with development teams on the ongoing transition to cloud infrastructure
  • Technical responsibility for the release process
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability, availability and reduce costs

Essential experience to include MOST of:

  • Degree in STEM subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience of on prem migration to AWS
  • IaC - Terraform
  • AWS services: S3, Route 53, Lambda, IoT Core
  • AWS CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, CodeCommit, CodeBuild
  • Containerised deployment - Docker
  • CI/CD- Jenkins, GitHub
  • Python, Linux
  • Knowledge of AWS VPC/IAM/EC2
  • Serverless development & deployment
  • PostgreSQL
  • Cloud deployment of microservice secure and scalable architectures
