The Company you’ll work for:

Our client is an established and successful company based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and due to further growth they are looking to expand their team in many of the key areas of their business. They are currently looking for an Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.

The job you’ll do:

  • Analyse costs and develop cost-saving strategies.
  • Process payroll, payments and manage bad debt.
  • Monitor inventory levels and pricing trends.
  • Analyse financial data to determine the accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
  • Analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures.
  • Assist in highlighting stock control issues.

About you:

  • Previous experience in an accounting role with a good knowledge of company/statutory accounting procedures
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounts/finance IT systems, database management and a proficient user of office IT systems including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a good attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be diplomatic
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • University degree
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • 5 years’ experience working as an Accountant.
