A large firm with offices in Newcastle city centre our looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior to their Private Wealth service line where you be part of the tax, trusts and accounting team.

With a great deal of autonomy you will assume responsibility for a portfolio of clients, preparing personal and trustees' tax returns.

The role:

  • Preparation of tax returns for review and undertaking peer reviews
  • Working with a portfolio that includes company directors, trusts and estates and high net worth individuals with some international exposure
  • Dealing with the day to day tax affairs for your client portfolio and those more junior in the team
  • Ensuring engagement letters are in place for all clients
  • Ensuring fees are agreed and billed accordingly
  • Assisting other members of your tax team in the overall management of client affairs.
  • Liaison with HMRC
  • Attending client meetings where appropriate

Your experience:

  • We are hoping to find an individual who has a minimum of two years experience completing UK tax returns
  • It would be desirable, yet not essential if the successful candidate had some experience of trusts and Inheritance tax
  • ATT part or fully qualified would be advantageous
  • Experienced gained from an accounting practice
  • Confident working with tax systems as well as Microsoft excel.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written

Working arrangements:

The opportunity is open on both full and part-time hours, with flexibility to consider different working patterns within the core day Monday to Friday with variable start and finish times

The role is offered on a hybrid basis where you can divide your time between home and office
