Practice Accountant, Newcastle

The Firm:

A local accountancy practice based on the outskirts of Newcastle, easily accessible by public transport and with ample parking offer a wonderful small friendly working environment with a great work life balance for their team. With great exposure to small and medium sized businesses this can provide the successful Accountant a wide variety of work.

The Brief:

An opportunity to work in a general practice accounting role providing support to the Partners with both the preparation of statutory year end accounts as well as the associated personal tax compliance for their clients.

The Role:

  • Gathering information from clients to complete year end statutory accounts and provide management information.
  • Providing financial advice
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Management of financial and accounting systems
  • Developing relationships with clients, answering any queries they may have about their accounts alongside the Partner
  • Completion of self-assessment tax returns on behalf of clients for Directors, Partnerships, HNWI's and a handful of sole traders
  • Provision of basic tax advice
  • Maintaining client records
  • Liaison with HMRC and 3rd party where necessary
  • Supporting trainees in the office with their accounts understanding

Experience Required:

We are looking for an Accountant (qualified, part-qualified or by experience) who has experience working in a general accounting practice and can offer the skill sets required to prepare year end financial statements and tax returns for a portfolio of clients.

Your experience will have been gained to UK accounting standards, able to hit the ground running in this position.
