The CompanyAssistant Accountant - Study Support - Career Development - Flexible HoursWe are delighted to be supporting a growing organisation in their search for an Assistant Accountant. This is a newly created Assistant Accountant role which will support the Management Accountant directly. The roleThe Assistant Accountant duties will include:
  • Support the Management Accountant to ensure all transactions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the transactional finance team meets strict month/year end deadlines.
  • Work with the transactional team to ensure that all month end reconciliations are completed and available for the Management Accountant to review. 
  •  Assist the Management Accountant with the team workflow.
  • Overseeing direct reports and providing support to the wider team as and when necessary.
  •  Liaise with the Payroll Bureau on fortnightly and monthly pay runs, review draft reports completing spot checks and approve for submission to payment. 
  • Build and develop relationships throughout the business.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested. 
The PersonThe requirements for the Assistant Accountant role are:
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as the ability to nurture and maintain positive working relationships at all levels. 
  • Accounting knowledge, working towards an accounting qualification if not already held.
  • Experience working with Xero would be helpful, but not essential. 
  • Strong Excel skills
