Occupational Health and MSK Physiotherapist / Occupational Health Specialist Physiotherapist-(Band 6 or 7)-£35,000- £52,000 DOE + Benefits– Northeast of England, mainly Newcastle and Sunderland.

The Role

We are looking for an Occupational Health Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6 or 7) to join our team. This role is a mix of clinical and leadership duties, with approximately 60-70% focused on direct patient care and 30-40% on clinical governance and service development.

You will deliver Occupational Health physiotherapy, ergonomic and wellbeing services both onsite and offsite, as required by our clients across the North East. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to manage an MSK caseload from one of our private clinics.

A key aspect of this role will be overseeing Clinical Governance for our Occupational Health services, including leading on SEQOHS accreditation.

This position can be part or full time, but flexible to meet the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties (60-70%)

  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans based on the best available evidence.
  • Obtain patient consent for assessments, treatment, and reporting.
  • Deliver high standards of physiotherapy care in line with CSP and ACPOHE guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with legal and professional standards.
  • Refer patients to other departments or healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Also deliver Older People Physiotherapy services within the community including home visits and care homes.

Leadership & Clinical Governance (30-40%)

  • Support the implementation of business and operational initiatives for Occupational Health services.
  • Ensure high standards of clinical quality and governance.
  • Lead on SEQOHS accreditation and support the maintenance of other accreditations (ISO 9001, CQC, NHS DSP toolkit, Better Health at Work Award).
  • Oversee internal and external training, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness.
  • Keep up to date with the latest clinical evidence and implement best practices where appropriate.

We provide Home Visit Physiotherapy services for our Older People and those with mobility problems, which do not allow them to attend one of clinics. PML also deliver Occupational Health and Wellbeing services for companies nationally.

The Person

  • Degree level qualified in Physiotherapy.
  • Member of CSP.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • At least 2 years UK based Occupational Health experience.
  • Evidence of CPD maintenance.
  • Evidence of EBP.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to carry out and manage clinical caseload.
  • Ability to collect management information.
  • Accurate and thorough approach.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Able to deliver OH and wellbeing training to clients.
