As a Legal Cashier you play a vital role in our business. You will provide day to day banking support to our legal and accounts team, whilst ensuring full compliance with the CLC Accounts Rules. This is a hybrid role, which will require weekly attendance at head office, and the ability to work remotely where appropriate.Job Description:* Statement checking and processing client monies* Authorising bank payments and processing all client payments out (telegraphic transfers, faster payments, BACs and CHAPS)* Liaise directly with conveyancing department and colleagues in the wider business to ensure completions are executed accurately and on time* Assisting with the investigation and resolution of unallocated payments* Liaise with credit control team to obtain the allocations for unidentified amounts* Provide cover within the team, carrying out any other tasks that fall within the aspects of the role or the wider team* To ensure compliance with the company policies and the regulatory framework provided by the CLC* To effectively manage your time to enable you to provide the service as detailed in this job description* To identify & raise any issues to the attention of your supervisor* To immediately advise the Money Laundering Reporting Officer/Supervisor of any issues that have been brought to your attention regarding any matter regarding Money Laundering or deemed out of the ordinary* To keep up to date with any changes in regulations that would affect your role and to attend any necessary training sessions* To manage your tasks daily, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner in line with our service obligations, always ensuring a high level of control over tasks* Use of case management processes and systems, using the available technology to achieve the quality of outcomes required, and to store, retrieve and analyse information* Maintain an understanding of the financial drivers and billing processes relevant to the department* To complete additional ad hoc duties as and when required by the accounts team* Maintain the accuracy and integrity of computer and manual filing systems used within your remit* To provide relevant reports on a daily basis / weekly and monthly to our internal and external clients* To complete additional ad hoc duties as and when requiredPerson Specification:Essential* Knowledge of the CLC/SRA Accounts Rules* Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, demonstrating proactivity and self-motivation* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills* Excellent numeracy skills* Ability to complete assigned tasks effectively and promptly, ability to work to deadlines* Adaptable and flexible with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team* Ability to build rapport with both colleagues and clients* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookDesirable* Over 12 months experience within a similar legal cashier role /accounts department, ideally in a busy Conveyancing DepartmentWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.
