Our Team 

This is an exciting time to join Economic Crime Risk, a second line of defence function. Our Governance & Insights team is looking for an experienced Governance & Insights Analyst to support us in our contribution to the Virgin Money purpose: to protect customers and stop bad people doing bad things through our firm.

As Risk Governance & Insights Analyst, you'll be key in ensuring all Economic Crime matters are effectively covered through governance and insights. Your time will be split between two key areas of focus: support for governance and reporting and support for building MI and insights capability. 

What you'll be doing 

Be able to build MI & Insights capability:

  • Support development and production of consistent, accurate & timely MI to support reporting by managers and senior leaders, ensuring issues are escalated as required.
  • Data analysis of monthly EC MI identifying trends and areas of further investigation using multiple sources and cleansing data with Excel and Power BI.
  • Ensure appropriate governance documentation is in place for EC MI production and maintain this documentation as MI requirements change.
  • Support with technical aspects of projects including the Business Wide Risk Assessment with the use of Excel and PBI for data manipulation, report collation, ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholder at all levels within the business. 

Be proficient in Governance & Reporting:

  • Support monthly board reporting cycle for all Economic Crime matters, e.g. production of a monthly SMF17 report, Risk Appetite Statement metrics, etc.
  • Maintain the Economic Crime calendar of events to ensure deliverables across the team are managed and co-ordinated.
  • Support in the production of required materials for 2LOD EC governance meetings and additional forums.
  • Support with the coordination of risk and controls across the team.

We need you to have 

  • Experience working within a governance environment.
  • Experience working in reporting or a MI role. 
  • Experience using MS Excel and PowerBI to produce reports/MI.
  • Track record of analysing data to reach fact-based conclusions.
  • Good stakeholder management and ability to form effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Practical experience working with Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint and Office.

  • Experience using SQL and Power Query.
  • Experience of the VMUKs core systems.
  • Knowledge of Financial Crime policy & procedures.
