The Project Monitoring Officer position is available with the Local Authority in Tyneside for a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week on a 3-month contract with a possibility for extension, starting December 2nd.
The role offers a pay rate of £22 per hour umbrella, which equates to an annual salary of approximately £43,900.
Key responsibilities include leading the monitoring and reporting of externally funded projects, ensuring effective service delivery, and liaising with delivery organizations to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Candidates should possess a finance qualification such as AAT, have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and demonstrate experience in funding programs and project monitoring.
Experience in project management and a solid understanding of financial and legal regulations related to funding contracts are also required.

Project Monitoring OfficerLocal Authority Tyneside37.5 Hours per week (Full Time)Flexible Working3 Month Contract (Possibility for Extension)Start Date: December 2nd£22ph Umbrella (£43,900pa)Job PurposeResponsible for leading the monitoring and reporting the performance of a range of projects that are external funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which are being delivered by the client and external partners.You will also ensure effective service delivery by supporting and monitoring the grant programme and funding contracts. These programmes or projects could be either geographical focussed, thematic or contract basis.Key responsibilities

Regular collection and collation of project and programme output, outcome and expenditure information.
Completion of data returns to Government.
Administering payments to project delivery organisations.
Providing advice and support to delivery organisations to ensure satisfactory systems to monitor project and programme performance and finances are implemented.
Liaise with delivery organisations to provide guidance to ensure compliance with UKSPF funding requirements.
Coordinating regular reviews and audits of individual projects and to support the effective development, progress and evaluation of the programme and project portfolio.
Liaise with the Council's finance, procurement and legal teams to ensure the programme and all projects comply with financial and legal regulations and UKSPF funding rules.
Negotiate with and resolve any conflict and variations to contracts between partners, delivery organisations and other stakeholders with regards to the delivery of projects and programmes.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Finance qualification e.g. AAT
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience of funding programmes
Project monitoring and programme management experience
