The Opportunity:Nigel Wright Group is delighted to have been retained by a high growth, acquisition focussed client in the B2B service sector, to lead the search for a newly created Chief Commercial Officer appointment.  The company has a multi revenue stream setup, is PE backed with significant growth aspirations and requires a c-suite commercial leader to join its executive team and to sit above the Divisional Directors, the Sales and Marketing Director and the Head of Marketing.  This is a truly exciting opportunity with one of the North East's fastest growing organisations. Role Profile:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies.
  • Business Unit Oversight: Lead and manage the Divisional Directors of the three core business units, and any new business units.
  • Sales and Marketing: Oversee the Director of Sales and Marketing, guiding the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and brand recognition.
  • M&A Activities: Oversee the M&A activities of the business proactively seeking opportunities to grow through acquisitions.
  • Promotion of Business: Ensure brand and market presence is established and recognised positively in target markets, through strong well researched marketing campaigns.
  • Product Management: Oversee the development of a long-term product pipeline, ensuring growth opportunities are maximised across the product verticals.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify growth opportunities, assess competitive landscape, and understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Operational Excellence: Optimise sales led operational processes across business units to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with senior management, stakeholders, and the board, providing regular updates on commercial performance and challenges.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the commercial teams to stay competitive and adapt to market changes.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure a strong customer focus in all commercial activities, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in commercial activities and develop robust mitigation strategies.
Person Specification:
  • Must have held roles with strategic commercial oversight of a multi division / multi revenue stream / multi product or service environment.
  • Exposure to M & A activity (either identification of opportunities, involvement in acquisition processes, and / or onboarding acquired business units).
  • Experience of working in a private equity backed organisation would be advantageous, particularly if the investment cycle has been seen through to exit.
  • Comfortable having a regular presence in the North East.
