Are you an experienced Estimator looking to advance your career? Join our clients growing construction company based in Newcastle. They specialise in all aspects of commercial building works, including refurbishment, roofing works, and planned and reactive maintenance.

Summary

We are seeking a highly proficient Estimator with excellent numeracy, negotiation, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be methodical, organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure to meet client deadlines and company requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous estimating experience
  • Foundation degree in estimating/quantity surveying within the building industry
  • Valid driving licence

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, negotiate, and source the most competitive costs for materials, equipment hire, and labour from suppliers/subcontractors
  • Prepare, cost, and submit estimates
  • Collate detailed price lists of requirements for each construction project
  • Visit project sites to gather information and clarify client needs and expectations
  • Oversee projects to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts, considering potential inflation and projected timescale costs
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Management Team to ensure the successful execution of multiple projects according to the planned programme and priced schedule
  • Develop relationships with clients and key contacts
  • Stay up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Generate interim claim and final account applications

  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent with a 6-month probation period
  • Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday to Friday
