Role:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Test Solutions Team Leader to join their esteemed test engineering community. The role focuses on developing test equipment for sophisticated defence and aerospace projects, including the Eurofighter Typhoon jet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership of the technical solution within a defined work package area, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements
- Understand and refine stakeholder needs, prioritising and balancing them to deliver optimum capabilities
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency across the programme
- Advise on and enforce the use of appropriate tools and techniques for test equipment design
- Address and resolve emerging issues, escalating more complex risks, and supporting the definition of mitigation strategies
- Build and nurture relationships within and outside the business, promoting the adoption of best practices
- Mentor, coach, and upskill other engineers in the broader application of engineering principles
Job Requirements:
- Experience in driving technical solution development within multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency in capturing and analysing stakeholder needs to guide the development of viable solutions
- Extensive experience in the full design lifecycle
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of influencing and adapting to changing demands
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including managing customer and supplier relationships
- Commitment to maintaining engineering best practices, informed by external sources such as academia or other industries
- Experience in coaching and developing other professionals
- Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and driving issues to resolution
