My client based in Newcastle is looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician with mechanical bias to join an expanding team on permanent basis.This position is well-suited for individuals beginning their careers as junior mechanical engineers. It provides the opportunity to develop skills in the installation, repair, and maintenance of access equipment.

Responsibilities -

  • Perform a variety of all routine maintenance, fault finding and repair work on plant equipment including (but not limited to) pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, water lines, valves, belts, motors, electrical panels, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electronic control systems
  • Maintain preventative maintenance plan with weekly scheduled and targeted checks
  • Compete valid risk assessments for all work undertaken
  • Ensure the safe operational condition of plant and machinery
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times. Assist in the enforcement of safe working practices and conditions.
  • Follow company policy regarding manual handling techniques andlifting and slinging operations,working at height and use of PPE
  • Material Handling the use forklift trucks and cranes as required to collect and return items to and from designated areas (where qualified/ trained to do so).
  • Maintain and continually improve standards associated with 5S activities including the completion of audits, clean downs, and deep cleans.
  • PAT testing/ in-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment maintaining records and schedule.

Time served - Essential

18th Edition- Essential

PAT- Essential

Pasma Licence -Desirable

Cherry Picker License-Desirable

Forklift Truck License-Desirable

Experience -

Repair and maintenance mechanical items and systems- Essential

Repair and maintenance electrical & electronic items and systems- Essential

Repair and maintenance hydraulic items and systems- Essential

General machine tools, both manual and CNC- Essential

Repair and maintenance PLC items and systems-Desirable

PUWER / machinery safety knowledge-Desirable
