Company Overview:
A leading architectural practice in the North East of the UK, known for delivering high-quality and innovative designs across a wide range of sectors including education, residential, commercial, and public services. We are currently seeking a talented Senior Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team on a 3-month initial contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Architectural Technician, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects, working closely with architects, designers, and clients. You will be expected to produce high-quality technical drawings, detailed design documentation, and collaborate effectively across project teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the education sector and will be highly proficient in Revit. The role will require a 2-day per week in-office presence, with the remainder of the week being remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans using Revit.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
  • Provide technical support throughout all stages of design and construction.
  • Work on various education sector projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Liaise with contractors and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Manage project documentation, including design iterations, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues that arise during the construction phase.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technician within the UK architecture industry.
  • Strong experience in the education sector (experience with schools, colleges, or universities is highly desirable).
  • Proficient in Revit (essential), with experience in producing detailed technical drawings and BIM models.
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations, standards, and sustainability principles.
  • Excellent technical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience with other design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
  • Full working knowledge of Revit and other technical software.

Contract Details:

  • Initial contract length: 3 months (with potential for extension).
  • Hourly rate: £25+ per hour, depending on experience.
  • 2 days per week in the office, with the rest of the week working remotely.
  • Immediate start available.
