Calibre Search is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a well-established Building Consultancy in Newcastle.
The ideal Building Surveyor will have a strong technical background in building surveying and will be responsible for managing high-profile accounts across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, retail, and industrial projects. Worload is a varied mixture from technical due diligence to full project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on building design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment.
- Conduct building and measured surveys.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations and technical standards.
- Write specifications, obtain estimates, and manage maintenance contracts.
- Analyse building defects and prepare schedules of dilapidations.
- Supervise building work and manage claims/negotiations with loss adjusters.
Ideal Experience:
- MRICS qualified or working towards it.
- Previous experience in a consultancy capacity.
- Confident with client-facing responsibilities and networking.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Commercially focused and eager to contribute to the growth of the practice.
This is an excellent position for a Senior Building Surveyor looking to make an impact in a smaller, specialist team within a long-standing consultancy.
