Central Employment are working with a long standing and established digital marketing agency in central Newcastle, as they looking for a dynamic Head of Performance to lead there performance marketing team on a fixed-term basis. This role will cover maternity leave and focus on optimising campaign impact while shaping digital marketing excellence. Head of Performance Marketing overview: 

The Head of Performance Marketing will be a critical player , leading the strategy, execution, and optimisation of performance marketing across both organic and paid channels. You will be responsible for maximising ROI for our clients by driving high-impact campaigns that are grounded in data insights, market trends, and advanced analytics.

This is an ideal role for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to leadership, a deep understanding of digital performance marketing, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the overall performance marketing strategy, setting the vision and direction for high-impact campaigns across various digital channels.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of processes and reporting withing the performance marketing team, keeping up to date within the face-paced world of digital marketing.
  • Mentor, inspire, and support a team of performance marketing specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and optimisation of multi-channel digital campaigns, ensuring they meet or exceed client KPIs and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business goals and provide consultative insights on maximising digital marketing effectiveness.
  • Utilise advanced analytics to measure performance, identify trends, and generate insights to improve campaign effectiveness and drive continuous improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practice in digital performance marketing and integrate new tactics into the agency’s offerings.
  • Develop and manage campaign budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential experience: 

  • Extensive Experience in Digital Marketing: Minimum 6 years in a performance marketing role, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position within an agency or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing high-budget, multi-channel campaigns with significant ROI.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex data, make data-driven decisions, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficient with key digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, etc.), SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs), and experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Ability to articulate strategies, insights, and performance metrics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
