A leading organisation in the [insert sector] industry is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their technical team. The role involves translating creative concepts into engineered production drawings and managing the lifecycle of both new and existing design solutions. The CAD Technician will play a key part in delivering innovative and high-quality retail solutions through advanced 3D CAD modelling and engineering expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Functions:

  • Designs and develops innovative retail solutions using 3D CAD software.
  • Creates comprehensive and functional drawing packs suitable for outsourced manufacturing at the component level.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with engineers to develop detailed concepts.
  • Participates in design reviews to ensure robust designs that are optimised for manufacturing.
  • Manages required updates and changes to existing products.
  • Contributes to new product development reviews and provides technical insights.
  • Attends internal, supplier, and customer meetings to support project development.

Secondary Functions:

  • Actively participates in the development and standardisation of 3D CAD systems and processes.
  • Organises and prioritises personal workload as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
  • Conducts site visits and surveys in the UK and overseas, as required.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Demonstrable experience in designing products using sheet metal, timber, and acrylic materials.
    • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Solid Edge or similar systems.
  • Industry Background:

    • Prior experience in retail design or a related industry is advantageous.
