We're looking for someone who is time served in an engineering discipline or a graduate with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and someone who has a demonstrable background in Mechanical Design.

In this role you'll be working in a state of the art facility in Newcastle Upon Tyne reporting into the Engineering Manager.

The Design Engineer is responsible for contributing to the design and development of innovative products. This role involves translating conceptual ideas into tangible designs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure functional and aesthetically pleasing products.

The Design Engineer will utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate technical drawings and models, conduct simulations and analysis, and iterate designs based on feedback and testing. Additionally, close collaboration with production teams is required to address manufacturing constraints and optimize designs for efficient and cost-effective production.

Key Attributes and Experience:

  • Strong understanding and use of pressure vessel and general engineering calculations
  • Strong knowledge and application of API 6A, 6D, 6DSS, 17D and ASME
  • Basic knowledge and application of pressure equipment and hazardous area regulations (such as PED/PESR and UKEX/ATEX)
  • Commitment to self-learning
  • Apprentice Qualified or BEng Mechanical Engineering
