Teaching Assistant - Northumberland - Full-Time (January 2025)About the Role:Prospero Teaching is working with an excellent primary school in Northumberland who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils across school years on a full-time basis from January 2025.

This role is to run until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to become permanent for the appropriate candidate.

The successful candidate will support the pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with the class teacher to promote positive learning outcomes. You will need to be a resilient, compassionate practitioner with excellent relationship-building skills.Key Responsibilities:· Provide 1:1 support to a pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour· Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner· Build and maintain strong relationships with class teachers to support the pupils development· Prepare learning materials and resources for lessons· Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times· Interact and engage with pupils to encourage learning and build rapport· Liaise with parents and external agencies to discuss pupil progressWhat We Are Looking For:· Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, or we can process a new one for you)· Childcare-based qualification (preferred but not essential)· Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff· Resilient, proactive, and positive nature· Previous experience supporting pupils in a school setting· Experience with 1:1 support is a plus· High levels of enthusiasm and energy when working with children· A genuine passion for helping young people fulfil their potentialWhy Apply:This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable school environment.
