The Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Housing Services Team. This role involves carrying out full rewire installations, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems within the Council's housing stock and other premises. You will be responsible for testing, fault finding, and certifying electrical work while ensuring compliance with IEE regulations, NICEIC standards, and health & safety guidelines.

60% of work will be carried out in the Blyth area, with the following 20% in Alnwick/Morpeth and the remaining work within Northumberland.

08:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 08:30 - 16:00 Friday.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in electrical testing, fault finding, and repairs in housing or a similar environment
  • A minimum qualification of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in inspection and testing
  • Knowledge of IEE regulations and NICEIC requirements
  • Ability to use IT systems for certification and work order management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing and repairing faults
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the county

Desirable:

  • Experience working in social housing or public sector properties
  • Familiarity with Easy Cert software and other technical recording systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor apprentices and trainees
