Astute's Renewables team is partnering witha leading renewable energy provider with a commitment to professional development and sustainability to recruit a Solar Electrician / Electrician to work from their Newcastle hub. You will be installing solar into new build housing developments.

This Solar Electrician / Solar Installer role comes with a basic salary of up to 39k, overtime/price work, company van and fuel card, pension and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

We're looking for those with solar experience or those looking to get into the sector too. Must have a Level 3 electrical qualification and ideally an ECS card.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Senior Installation Manager you will:

  • Connect pre-installed solar panels, inverters and batteries on new-build housing estates and properties across the North East of England, with occasional travel outside of this region
  • Drive across Northern England to new build estates to connect, test and commission the solar panels, inverters and batteries on new-build properties
  • Carry out any rectification works required
  • Typically complete at least 3 installs per day, meaning enhanced salary on a daily basis
  • Always represent the business in a positive manner
  • Some works will require nights away (pre-paid accommodations with meals and allowances are provided). Typically once a fortnight but subject to change (accommodation paid for)


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience in installation and connection Solar PV panels, inverters and batteries is desired but not essential
  • Level 3 Electrical qualification
  • 18th edition (ideally)
  • Full UK Driving Licence


Personal skills

The Electrical Solar Installer role would suit someone who is:

  • Able to travel and stay nights away - van, fuel cards, accommodations and meal allowances provided (dinner, drink and breakfasts)
  • Used to working in fast paced environments
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Able to work in a team and own their own

  • A basic salary up to 39,000 plus piece rate / price work of an extra 75 per completed unit
