About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced OT Cyber Security Architect for a 12-month contract with a leading UK public sector organisation. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing and implementing secure operational technology (OT) environments that support critical services.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in securing OT systems, a deep understanding of cyber security frameworks, and experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver secure OT architecture solutions in line with public sector security standards.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise to secure operational systems that support critical services.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop robust mitigation strategies for OT environments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure security policies and controls are effectively implemented across OT systems.
  • Support the development of long-term OT security roadmaps and strategies.
  • Lead security incident response activities related to OT infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, including NCSC guidance, IEC 62443, and the NIS Directive.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation on all security architectures and processes.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an OT Cyber Security Architect or similar technical OT security role.
  • Strong knowledge of operational technology environments and industrial control systems (ICS).
  • Experience in implementing security controls for critical OT systems and networks.
  • Understanding of cyber security principles, risk management, and threat modelling in OT settings.
  • Expertise in network security, segmentation strategies, and secure remote access.
  • Familiarity with UK public sector security requirements and best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including IEC 62443, NIS Directive, and ISO 27001.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working within UK government bodies or public sector organisations.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SABSA.
  • Familiarity with cloud integration in OT environments.
  • Knowledge of OT security monitoring, threat intelligence, and incident response best practices.
